Northern Cyprus, as an independent country, has its own immigration laws like any other country. Citizens of all countries can obtain a visa from the immigration officer at designated airports, ports and border crossings. Obtaining a visa from North Cyprus agencies abroad does not guarantee entry into the country.
The beautiful island of Northern Cyprus has a representative office or consulate general only in Turkey and England. Also, the Consulate General of Turkey in Iran has also set up a section called the representation of Northern Cyprus. Regarding entry to North Cyprus, in general, the granting of an entry visa is at the discretion of the immigration officer.
Visa required
The type and duration of the visa issued to foreign nationals is stamped on the passport by immigration officers. Foreigners’ stay in this country cannot be longer than the date stated in their travel documents, and they cannot use the visa for reasons other than the original purpose. For example, working on a tourist or student visa is a visa violation.
Permitted length of stay
Visas for foreign nationals who visit North Cyprus can be issued for a period of one week to 90 days, depending on the reason for the visit and with the opinion of the immigration officer. The duration of the granted stay cannot exceed 90 days in a 180-day period. . All foreigners who wish to stay in Northern Cyprus for more than 90 days are required to obtain a residence permit.
